  • The 5 Best Chai Latte K-Cups

    1. Café Escapes Chai Latte K-Cups – Best Overall

    Cafe Escapes chai latte K-cups

Café Escapes Chai Latte has great flavor, a rich and creamy texture, and spiciness that carries more than a little hint of the exotic. When we say that a good chai latte is best savored, this is what we’ve got in mind. In fact, you might have trouble telling the difference between this one and the chai latte you get from the pricey coffee house down the block.

You might also have trouble telling them apart when it comes to the price, however. K-cup drinks are already pretty expensive compared to standard brewing techniques, and this one is among the most expensive when it comes to per-unit price.

    Pros
    • Great flavor
    • Rich and creamy
    • Complex spiciness
    Cons
    • Pretty expensive

    2. Solimo Chai Latte Tea K Cup Pods

Solimo Chai Latte Tea K-Cup Pods

Amazon’s foray into the K-cup market has been well received by consumers. Like most things the company tries, the Solimo Chai Latte pods are a well-done effort that has produced great products at a budget-friendly price. It hits most of those notes and is one of the creamiest chai lattes we considered.

One high point is the price. Of the K-cup brands we looked at, this one clocks in with the best per-unit price. If you want a great chai latte but need to stay on a budget, Solimo’s brew is the one for you.

We did think it could be a little more flavorful, which is why we dropped it to the runner-up rank. As ubiquitous as Amazon is, it’s also the only standard retail outlet where you can buy these pods, so the distribution is limited to one source.

    Pros
    • Great value
    • Superior creaminess
    Cons
    • Limited distribution
    • Could be more flavorful

    3. Grove Square Chai Latte Keurig K-Cups

Grove Square Chai Latte Keurig K-Cup Pods

If you’re a bit put off by the price of the Café Escape chai latte, we’ve got a pretty good alternative. Grove Square’s Chai Latte K-cups are a great drink at a much more reasonable price. We cringe at the idea of talking about things we put into our bodies – food and drinks – in terms of value, but K-cup drinks are already expensive compared to other, more traditional home-brew methods, so it’s a point that is worth addressing.

It’s also a good, pleasant drink. If you want something to warm yourself up on a chilly day and pass some time over a book with, this is a nice one.

That’s also its chief drawback. It’s a pleasant drinking experience. Chai latte is supposed to be a little more sensory with its complicated blend of spices and steamed milk. It ought to be something that makes you sit up a bit and take notice. With this one, you could almost drink it and forget what it is.

    Pros
    • Great value
    • Pleasant experience
    Cons
    • Only a pleasant experience

    4. Tazo Classic Chai Latte K Cup Pods

Tazo Classic Chai Latte K-Cup Pods

Tazo is known for making outstanding specialty tea blends, so of course it has a line of K-cup chai lattes. Just like its specialty herbal teas, its Classic Chai Latte pods do a good job of blending spices for a pretty good tea flavor.

They also occupy the extreme end of the price spectrum. They’re more expensive than the Café Escapes chai latte without really hitting all the same notes that it does. In particular, we feel like the milk and sweetener overpower the tea flavor, which of course is what Tazo is best known for doing.

If it could bring out the tea flavor a little more and take a whack to the per-unit price, Tazo would have a K-cup that could run with the big dogs. As it stands, it’s our fourth-ranked pick.

    Pros
    • Good flavor
    Cons
    • Really expensive
    • Taste could be more robust

    5. Twinings of London Chai Latte Tea K-Cups

Twinings of London Chai Latte Tea K-Cups

Like Tazo, Twinings of London is a well-established tea brand, specializing in black teas like Earl Grey and English Breakfast. With today’s broader hot drink market, going into the K-cup market with a chai latte isn’t surprising. Unfortunately, Twinings has done a poor job of it.

We like the spice blend. That’s a bit surprising given that Twinings specializes simpler teas, but it is this chai latte’s strong suit. Unfortunately, unless you use the smallest possible cup size on your Keurig, you’re going to get weak, thin tea. We can’t stress this enough.

These were already among the costliest of chai latte K-cups, and since this means using multiple K-cups if you want a big batch, this means that they’re also a pretty bad value.

Buyer’s Guide: How to Select the Best Chai Latte K-Cups

What makes a chai latte K-cup great? That depends on what you’re looking for. Keep reading for our quick buying tips.

    Flavor

First and foremost, you’ll want K-cups that are delicious and produce aromatic, strong chai. The spice blends that make up chai can vary quite a bit, so you may want to think about which flavors you prefer. Do you like your chai spicy or sweet? Are you a cardamom or cinnamon fan, or would you rather taste the black tea?

    Value

How much would you like to spend on chai latte K-cups? If your budget is tight or you’re a regular chai drinker, you may want to stick with less expensive bulk options. If you’re shopping for an occasional treat or price isn’t a priority, we’d recommend our top pick, the Café Escapes Chai Latte, which blows the others away in terms of texture and flavor.

    Conclusion

Café Escapes makes the best K-cup chai latte in our book. It’s expensive, but it’s also hands down just the best available. Amazon’s Solimo chai latte pods aren’t quite as good, but they’re easier on your wallet. You can only get them on Amazon, which means their distribution is pretty limited. Grove Square makes a pretty decent chai latte pod that’s a great value. Our biggest beef is that for a drink that’s supposed to be part experience, it’s just nice. That makes it kind of boring. Tazo’s chai latte K-cups have a decent, if underwhelming, flavor. The biggest thing that will get your attention, and in the worst way imaginable, is the price. Twinings does a good job on its chai latte spice blend, but the concentration is so weak that if you don’t make yourself the smallest cup, you’ll wind up with weak, flavorless tea.

We hope our reviews provided you with good insights into which chai latte K-cups are the best way to spend your hot drink dollars. One thing about chai lattes is that if you’re going to drink them, you want them to be good. We wish you the best luck in finding the right one for you.
