There are so many ways to brew using an AeroPress, but this is one of our favorites. Flip your AeroPress upside down for more consistent extraction and control over your steeping time! Here’s the simple inverted AeroPress brewing method.
Rinse the filter. Place the paper filter into the filter cap and pour water through it.
Push the plunger into the main body of the brewer. Stand the AeroPress on the plunger, leaving the main body open on top.
Add coffee grounds to the brewer. You’ll want to use a medium-fine grind size and one rounded scoop (about 15 grams) for every 7 ounces of water.
Boil your filtered water.
Pour a small amount of water over the grounds. Let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds.
Pour in the rest of the water and give the mixture a good stir. Then let the coffee steep for 3 minutes.
Attach the cap with the paper filter and flip the brewer over onto your coffee mug. Then push the plunger until all of the coffee comes out. Enjoy your inverted AeroPress brew!
