Turmeric has a very strong flavor, and it can be overpowering on its own. As an ingredient in a latte, however, it makes a worthy centerpiece to the flavor puzzle. We like to liven our latte up with a few sweeteners and spices.
2cupsmilkwe like to use 1 cup almond milk and 1 cup regular milk
¼tspground turmeric
¼tspground cinnamon
½tspvanilla extract
1tspmaple or honeyboth are good!
Instructions
Combine your ingredients in a small pot and stir until they are fully incorporated.
Bring the contents to a boil and then simmer over low heat for 2-4 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent clumping.
We like to froth the milk to make it extra creamy. If you have a milk frother, you can use that; otherwise, just bring everything to a boil and stir.
If you have a French press, you can mimic a frother by pumping the mixture vigorously with the plunger. Be careful! It’s very easy to splash hot milk out of the french press. Use a slow, controlled motion at first until you get a feel for it.
Pour the mixture into two large mugs. You can garnish with a cinnamon stick or sprinkle a touch of ground cinnamon over the top for a little more cinnamon kick.
